Description
Jacek Yerka, real name Jacek Ryszard Kowalski, born 1952 in Toru. Based on precise imaging techniques modeled on old masters (Jan van Eyck, Hieronymus Bosch), but above all on his own imagination that knows no bounds, Yerka created his surreal world. Full of symbolism, details, references to fairy tales, mythology and surrealistic dreams. A style in which he combines surreal compositions with detailed realism, commonly referred to as “fantastic realism”. His work is particularly admired by fantasy lovers; in 1995 at the World Fantasy Convention he was awarded the prestigious World Fantasy Award for best artist.
