Look up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s Superman!

On February 12, 1940, a new syndicated radio series called “Superman” (later renamed “The Adventures of Superman”) hit the airwaves. An instant hit, the show aired throughout the 1940s featuring the vocal talents of Bud Collyer as the Man of Steel. The radio program introduced many fantastic characters and imaginative concepts that became fixtures of the Superman mythology such as the deadly mineral Kryptonite.

Now these fantastic adventure scripts are published in book form. “THE SUPERMAN RADIO SCRIPTS – – Vol. 1: Superman vs. the Atom Man” features the classic 1945 broadcast pitting the Man of Steel against a radioactive Nazi agent whose veins flowed with deadly Kryptonite.

An added bonus, the book includes 16 illustrated sidebars providing extra insight on the characters, actors, and the impact the radio show had on listeners.
